PRACTICE / 01
A criminal case against a business rarely appears out of nowhere: it usually grows out of a tax audit, a corporate conflict or a counterparty’s complaint. We trace where the case came from and build the defence there.
The defence is conducted by attorneys of the bar association: the warrant of attorney, attorney–client privilege and access to the client are secured in full. You sign the legal-assistance agreement directly with the attorney.
HOW THE WORK IS BUILT
The attorney enters the case, gains access to the client and the file, and stops the impulsive explanations that so often become evidence.
We examine the tax, insolvency and corporate background: such disputes are often resolved where they started, not in the criminal arena.
Motions, challenges to investigative actions, expert evidence, position on custody and asset freezes.
Conduct of the case in court, appeal against conviction, newly discovered circumstances.

QUESTIONS
The legal-assistance agreement is concluded directly between you and the attorney; the fee is paid into the bar association’s cash office or bank account (art. 25(1), (6) of Federal Law No. 63-FZ on the Bar).
Call us, ask to see the warrant and copy its details, sign nothing you do not understand, and give no explanations before your defence counsel arrives. Objections are entered in the record together with the attorney.
You are not obliged to appear without a summons, and an “off the record” conversation almost always ends in an explanation later used as evidence. The right order is to clarify your procedural status and to go with counsel.
No — no one may promise the outcome of a criminal case. We assess the prospects and tell you straight what defence options exist and what each one achieves.
Yes — that is a distinct strand of the defence: motions for the return of seized items and for copies of documents the business needs. In economic-crime cases Article 164.1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure expressly restricts seizure of electronic data carriers, and we rely on that.

The consultation is free when an agreement is signed: that is where we say whether the case has prospects and how the work would be built.
